On Wednesday 21 August, Studio 2 was filled with over 90 members and 15 guests for the 2023/2024 Annual General Meeting. The business of the day included reporting to members on the activities of the Committee of Management and electing a new Committee of Management for 2024/2025.
At this AGM, we farewelled three Committee members and welcomed three new members. The AGM is also an opportunity to recognise significant contributions to U3A Nunawading, by awarding Life Membership. The Photo Gallery from the AGM gives a taste of the day.

This year’s theme for the Seniors Festival from 1-31 October is ‘Explore, Engage and Evolve’ and there is no shortage of things to do to celebrate ageing well and having fun. A highlight will be the Whitehorse grand opening hosted by U3A Nunawading on Sunday 6 October. Check out the great program we’re offering!
Last week was Scams Awareness week in Australia. In delayed celebration of the week, a Scams Awareness session will be held on Friday 13 September, see details below. And if you need support for your phone, tablet / iPad or computer, our “Appy Hour” sessions return in Term 4.
Another successful New Members morning Another successful New Members morning tea was held on Wednesday 31 July, with 15 new members attending on a cold and foggy morning to enjoy a warm welcome. See the photos from the event.
As we have done for many years, on the last day of Term 2, the Ancient Egyptian History class came together to share their love of Ancient Egypt.
As usual, it was an enjoyable and interesting session. Students contribute by bringing in items including stories and photos that they have collected over the years and present them to the class.
In 2012, Keith Graham asked, “Do you think Public Speaking would be a class that members may want to attend?” Here we are, twelve years on and four hundred classes later, and the class is still going strong.
