Four O’clock Forum – ‘Coffee with a Cop’

Leading Senior Constable Curtis Williams from Crime prevention and Community engagement, Victoria Police, was well received. He gave lots of good, useful information about being aware of your surroundings especially at the ATM, on the street, on public transport and in the home.

He took several questions from the audience and spoke of various ways to secure your home which are not too costly.

President’s Report

Introducing Member Wizard – our new Membership System is coming

While our current membership system, UMAS, is still serving us well at present, we are planning to move to a new system – Member Wizard – on 1 July. This new system has been taken up by 23 Victorian U3As, supported by U3A Network Victoria, with another 30 U3As planning to convert this year.

The project to migrate our membership system to the new Member Wizard application is well underway with the new system to be ready before the start of Term 3. Your current membership details including your membership number and class enrolments will be migrated to the new system ready for you by early July.

English and Welsh Dancing at Whitehorse Culture Fest

On Sunday 22 March, the historic Strathdon House and Orchard Precinct came alive as part of Whitehorse Council’s 2026 Culture Fest celebration, drawing a vibrant crowd of families of all ages eager to experience the richness of local cultural traditions. The festival offered a diverse program of music, food, interactive activities and cultural performances. Among the highlights was a lively performance by our U3A English, Scottish and Welsh dance group.
