Welcome back to all members after our term break. I hope you had the opportunity to catch up with family and friends and maybe get away from the Melbourne cold weather.
Our AGM is coming up as you can see from the official notice at the beginning of this newsletter. This is a great opportunity for you to learn more about how our great organisation works and to support the volunteers who put in the time as Committee Members to make things run smoothly.
With winter well and truly here, those coffee vouchers are a great way to enjoy a comforting hot drink. But hurry—they’ll expire soon!
Also, with our Annual General Meeting coming up in August, now’s the perfect time to think about putting your hand up for the Committee of Management.
It is pleasing to see that many of our members have picked up a voucher from reception for a free coffee from the café at the Hub. If you have not done so yet, feel free to come by Reception and pick up a voucher. Remember strictly one voucher per member. Vouchers are valid until the end of Term 2.
This is the start of Volunteers Week 2025 – a time to acknowledge all the volunteers who make this great organisation what it is.
As you are reading this newsletter you will be on term and Easter break for a couple of weeks. Enjoy your time away from U3A and, hopefully, many of you will be able to catch up with family and friends.
The “Have a Coffee on us Promotion” has been running for around four weeks and members who read the last newsletter have been able to enjoy a hot drink at the Hub café for FREE. If you would like a voucher, just pop over to the reception desk and ask for one. This promotion is strictly one voucher per member.
During the first week of term, I attended New Members morning and afternoon teas organised by Marlene Fernandes and her Member Liaison team. The attendance was excellent, and it was great to meet so many of our new members. See the photos here.
I am sure that all those who attended have a much better idea of how U3A Nunawading works and the enormous contribution that our volunteers make.

We’ve had a very busy November with a successful enrolment, and special thank-you events for our Volunteers and Leaders. Welcome to our new members; we look forward to meeting you in 2025. We also have a special opportunity for our members to access discount car hire.
As the year winds to a close, it is the season for celebrations. In this edition we celebrate a COTA Victorian Senior Achiever Award for Ken Briscoe and note the fun we had in celebrating the Melbourne Cup.

On Wednesday 21 August, Studio 2 was filled with over 90 members and 15 guests for the 2023/2024 Annual General Meeting. The business of the day included reporting to members on the activities of the Committee of Management and electing a new Committee of Management for 2024/2025.
At this AGM, we farewelled three Committee members and welcomed three new members. The AGM is also an opportunity to recognise significant contributions to U3A Nunawading, by awarding Life Membership. The Photo Gallery from the AGM gives a taste of the day.
