Course Administrator’s Report

From the Course Admin team

Our garden is already looking like spring.

As Ken and I follow up classes for 2026, the rest of the Course Admin team are busy dealing with the day-to-day work of making sure withdrawals, apologies etc are all up-to-date. If we seem a little distracted, please bear with us as we try to make changes as requested by Class Leaders, and accommodate new classes for 2026.

Read on for a reminder about mobile phones, some new classes in Term 4 and a special event in the term break.

Didn’t the trees look beautiful in Autumn? We’ve captured the brilliant colours of the trees behind the Hub in late May (above). The gardens are also looking good, thanks to the gardeners who attend every fortnight rain, hail or shine.

As this term winds down, we have quite a few new courses for Terms 3 and 4 – see the list in this article and the separate item on computer courses.

As we say goodbye to Term 1, have a look at all the new classes commencing in Term 2 that are available to enrol in, and those you can go on a waitlist for.

Enjoy the two-week break and please remember when you come back that it is to everyone’s advantage that you don’t attend a class if you have any signs of a cold. If you do have symptoms of COVID make sure you test, and if you test positive, act fast and call your GP. You may be eligible for COVID-19 anti-viral medicine.

Stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back to classes in Term 2 which commences on Tuesday 22 April.

Now that Term 1 is well underway and things are settling down, we have some information to help make your time at U3A easier. Please take note of the information on name badges and car parking in particular and the waitlist information in the next article.

It is disappointing that some members have shown aggression to fellow members – this is not acceptable and not what we are used to in our U3A. If you are unhappy with anything please make an appointment with either the Course Administrator or a member of the Committee of Management to discuss constructively.
